The short version
  • Your script content, notes, and project files never leave your facility. DigiBind runs entirely on your local network.
  • The app contacts our servers only to verify your license — nothing else.
  • If you sign up for the waitlist on this website, we store your email address. That's it.
  • We don't run analytics on the app. We don't sell data. We don't advertise.

1. The DigiBind application

DigiBind is a local desktop application. It runs a small web server on your Mac and serves your whole team from within your own network. Script PDFs, scene notes, comments, page labels, and project files are stored only on the computer running DigiBind. None of that content is transmitted to DigiBind Technologies or any third party.

The application does not include usage analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry of any kind. What happens in your edit room stays in your edit room.

2. License verification

To activate and maintain a paid license, DigiBind periodically contacts our license server at license.digibindtech.com. This check sends only:

What is sent Why
Your license ID To look up your subscription status and confirm it's valid.
A hashed computer identifier A one-way SHA-256 hash of your Mac's hardware UUID. We never store the raw ID — only the hash, so we can count how many computers a license is activated on without identifying the machine.
The computer's display name So you can see "Gen's MacBook Pro" rather than a hash when managing your activations.

Checks happen quietly in the background, roughly once a week, and more frequently as your renewal date approaches. If DigiBind cannot reach the license server, it continues working normally for up to 30 days before requiring a connection.

The free DigiBind Viewer does not perform license checks and contacts no external servers.

3. This website (digibindtech.com)

The DigiBind website is hosted on Netlify. If you submit your email address through the waitlist form, that address is stored by Netlify Forms and used only to notify you when DigiBind is ready. We will not send marketing emails, share your address with third parties, or add you to any list beyond the waitlist you signed up for.

We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site. Standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) may be retained by Netlify for security and abuse-prevention purposes per Netlify's own privacy policy.

4. Purchases and billing

Subscription payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider. DigiBind Technologies receives your name, email address, and subscription status from Paddle so we can issue your license. We do not receive or store your payment card number or banking details — those remain with Paddle.

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain your email address and license record for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you resubscribe or need support. To request deletion of your personal data, email us at privacy@digibindtech.com and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Children

DigiBind is a professional tool for post-production. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle personal data, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active subscribers by email.
